"Dog Law 101” will provide an overview of contract issues for dog owners, co-owners and breeders. You may find yourself faced with contractual and other legal problems when unexpected issues crop up with coowners

and breeding, showing and leasing, placement of puppies, as well as the maze of AKC paperwork. If these problems are not controlled, a respectable breeder can find that their reputation is tarnished, and their finances drained. Often a good contract can help avoid most or all of the problems commonly encountered by breeders and owners.

Lisa Curry, Esq. has experience in dog law, including writing, negotiating and litigating contracts, such as those for breeders, co-owners, handlers, boarding kennels, stud dogs and bitch leasing. She also has experience with AKC rules and regulations regarding registration and ownership, and assists clients with record keeping issues as well. Having raised and shown dogs, Lisa Curry has an insider's view of the dog world that allows her to approach dog law issues with a unique perspective. Lisa Curry practices law in Hackensack, NJ.
