At the March 2005 meeting of the Board of Directors of the Central New Jersey Hound Association, it was agreed to donate $2,500 to the Canine Health Foundation. The Central New Jersey Hound Association is proud to announce the donation was given to the Canine Health Foundation, using a Donor Advised Fund, in May 2005. In November 2006, the Central New Jersey Hound Association agreed to donate $2,500 to the Canine Health Foundation in honor of Asa Mays. Asa was a founding member of the C.N.J.H.A. and was active and instrumental in its development.

The Central New Jersey Hound Association donated more than $600 to the A.K.C./ Canine Relief Fund for canine rescue in the aftermath of the Katrina/Rita hurricane devastation.

The first annual ASA MAYS SCHOLARSHIP was awarded at the September 2005 show. Karen Mays, presented the award to the father of the recipient.
